Charles inherited his father's property, known as "StrawberryHill" and sold some of it to the great grandfather of BenjaminFranklin, Governor Franklin. The Franklin's in turn sold theproperty to Robert Morris, the patriot financier of theAmerican Revolution. In 1889, Richard Buzby, a descendant ofeither Mary or Hannah French, Thomas' daughters, purchased theproperty back into the French family possession. A fire atCharles' meeting House destroyed most all records regardingCharles, his descendants and their lives. However, we know thathe was an active member of the Waterford Township Meeting. Hemarried Elinor a member of the Shrewsbury Meeting and hissecond wife was an "outsider", name unknown. He wasreprimanded by the Society representative Hugh Sharp(hisbrother-in-law) 6/3/1719. Charles returned to England to lookover the lands left him there on 4/5/1699 & 7/6/1703. Hesigned an official document in 11/1/1704 that he was a memberof the Quaker Society & couldn't in good conscience joinmilitia or bear arms.
